"I think right now is an amazing time for change, I've had the honor of being a black person living in Welches and being able to meet new friends through protesting. People who stand with me for justice & stand against police brutality. My biggest thing about this is that I hope the people of Welches, Oregon take the time to fully educate themselves and look deeper into Black Ethnic studies. You won't be able to fully walk in my shoes but knowing that the people around me have taken the time and patience to learn about my struggle is very heartwarming for me. Living in a mostly white community has been hard. The stares still really get to me and I know in my heart I will never fully fit in. My hair styles and the way I look will always shock some people but it's time to normalize the differences in Welches. Continue to fight for what's right and even after this Black lives matter movement slows down. Never stop talking about it, never stop educating yourself. Don't just see The Black lives matter movement as a trend." - Anonymous
